Patty Giese
Director, Grants and Budget Management
Patricia “Patty” Giese is a senior manager and the director of Grants Management and Administrative Services for the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR). She has worked with IIR since 2011 and currently oversees IIR’s grants administration and administrative operations.
Ms. Giese brings a wealth of knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of grant cycles, application processes and procedures, award and budget management, reporting requirements, and compliance regulations, ensuring that grant-funded initiatives are executed seamlessly and with the highest standards of accountability. In addition to critical services in support of IIR’s grants team, she has also provided oversight for a wide range of administrative support activities including facilities management, procurement, inventory management, meeting planning, and conference cost reporting.
Prior to joining IIR, Ms. Giese provided management and support for and developed expertise in administrative operations, finance and accounting, business process engineering and systems analysis, and audit and quality control services for other professional organizations.
Ms. Giese holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Mary Washington University and is a member of the National Grants Management Association.
